How to Extract Advanced Search Results on Twitter?

You can run this spice just by entering the search URL & choosing what you want to extract from the search, is it the tweets or users who have tweeted related to the topic you have searched for.

Here are the steps to Extract Twitter Advanced Search

1. Create a free TexAu account here
2. Enter the tweet URL in the respective field & choose what you want to scrape from the dropdown. You can leave it untouched if you want to scrape everything on Twitter Advanced Search. Right now you can scrape as much as you want but remember about the daily limits of your account.
3. Since the data you scrape with this spice is publically available, you don't need to enter your Twitter_Auth Token. However, using a proxy (if you use the web version of TexAu) is mandatory to not invite any troubles from the Twitter algorithm. This will require you to add a proxy to your account. 1. Technically there's no limit to how much data you can scrape from the Twitter advanced search, but we have capped the limit to 1000 tweets or users per day. This is to avoid any troubles with your Twitter account. You can schedule this spice to run every day & repeat the extraction process to dig more.

Understanding the whole execution of Extracting Twitter Advanced Search

Here we will see the steps of the execution & the inputs required for this spice.

The whole execution will play around these 6 input points & the total time to execute this will be around 1-2 minutes, depending on the number of posts/users you want to extract from the search. Here's what each of the input points means:

1. Advanced Search URL: Enter the advanced search URL you want to extract content from.
2. Category: This is an optional menu where you need to choose which content you want to extract, leave this untouched to extract everything on that search results.
3. Max Count: Specify how many tweets or users you want to extract, there's no limit officially from twitter but we've set this to 1000 records max.
4. Upload CSV or Google Sheet: You can upload a CSV of Google Sheet if you have multiple advanced search URLs. Be sure to execute this with the daily limit in mind. If you're doing this on the web browser, make sure you have a proxy set up beforehand (proxy is mandatory for web browsers). If you're doing the same thing on a desktop, you don't have to worry about anything. Refer to these guides to learn more about proxies.

5. Extract Likers: Clicking on this button will immediately start the execution.

6. Schedule this spice: You can choose to schedule this spice to regularly engage with tweet URLs mentioned in Google Sheet (more on this below)

How to Extract Twitter Advanced Search?

Step 1: Create & Setup TexAu account

Once your account is set up and you have completed the onboarding, visit this spice page in the app. TexAu acts on your behalf on Twitter to run this automation. TexAu is the safest automation platform on the web. We never ask for your login credentials.

Step 2: Specify Category & Max Count

Though this is an optional step, you can specify if you want to extract information about tweets or users (the spice will extract everything if you don't choose anything from the dropdown) who have tweeted about the search you've made. Furthermore, you can also specify how many of those information should be extracted. Leaving it untouched will extract up to 1000 records from the search.

Step 3: Upload the CSV or link Google sheet (only if you have multiple advanced searches to extract)

If you have a CSV, simply upload it from your PC. If you have a Google Sheet, there are some extra steps.

• First paste the Google sheet's URL.
• Input the column containing the post URLs. Make sure you choose the right column for successful execution.

• If you have purchased a proxy (you will have to add a proxy to your account) make sure you toggle the option. Proxy is mandatory if you're using TexAu's web app. Furthermore, if you're executing on a desktop, you don't have to worry about the proxy.

For the final touch, make sure you have set the sheet as public (as shown below) so the TexAu can access it.

Step 4: Start execution or schedule the automation

Clicking on the Extract Tweets button will immediately start the execution. Unless you have multiple advanced searches to work with, it would take few minutes to execute this script.

Scheduling the automation will give you additional points to control the execution. You can choose specific days of the week or month, specific time daily. You can even set a specific start & end time of the execution.

The advantage of automating the whole process is that you don't have to actively sit in front of your PC while TexAu does its job. But make sure you have a proxy if you choose to run the spice on our cloud servers.

Step 5: Download execution results to your local PC

Once you click on Extract Tweets you will see an execution window at the bottom of your screen, that would look as shown below:

Once the execution is complete, you will see the following message in the execution log.

Once you see, click on the 'Result' button where you can view your results & download the result as a CSV file as shown below.
